Left Space Studios
Thursday, March 12. As the day went on the classic San Francisco fog burned off and the weather turned bright and sunny. Nice after the chilly rains and fogs of winter. We’re headed over to Left Space Studios to attend the Profoto photographic assistantants' event. Rumor has it they're going to demo the new Profoto Pro-8 Air. Awesome! It's capable of 20 frames per second, that's twice what my Canon will do. And the flash duration! 1/12,000th of a second -- able to leap tall buildings, stop locomotives, speeding bullets -- you get the idea. Can't wait.
It's great to see assistants from other studios -- 150 of us showed up -- from the big catalog houses and the freelancers. Compare notes. Come up with ideas for the upcoming Profoto Pro-8 Photo Assistant's contest. Just hang. Yeah. Well, maybe have a beer or two as well.
We had fun shooting a dancer, demonstrating the ancient art of sword dancing in addition to more conventional themes like aerobics. Wow! Was that strobe cool or what?
Thanks, one and all, for coming out and spending the evening with the Pro-8a Air.
See you in the next city! RSVP here
